This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the creative potential of plastic waste, specifically cling wrap, by transforming it into functional tote bags.

The session begins with an introduction to the problem of plastic waste and the concept of upcycling. Participants will learn how to clean, layer, and fuse used cling wrap into hard, durable sheets using heat and pressure.

Once the sheets are formed, attendees can decorate them with colorful patterns and textures, adding a personal artistic touch. The custom-designed sheet is then professionally assembled into a unique tote bag, which each participant takes home.

The workshop emphasizes environmental awareness, resourcefulness, and creativity, making it suitable for families and individuals interested in sustainable crafts. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

The fee is $25 per person, and the workshop takes place on 20 June. Spaces may be limited, so early registration is recommended. This activity is ideal for those looking to reduce waste while creating something practical and beautiful.

The workshop is conducted by Semula, an organization dedicated to promoting circular economy practices through education and hands-on experiences.
