Flipside 2026

Flipside is an annual festival presented by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, running from 29 May to 7 June 2026. The festival celebrates risk-taking in performance art, featuring circus acts, physical theatre, comedy, and intimate storytelling.

Artists push boundaries through high-octane acrobatics, surreal absurdity, and deeply personal narratives, inviting audiences into shared moments of wonder. The programme includes both free and ticketed events suitable for families.

Highlights include 'BOX' (free, 5–7 June), a dreamlike blend of dance, acrobatics, shadow puppets, and music; 'Snakes and Ladders!' ($40, 29–31 May), an interactive musical comedy where audience rolls dice to determine the performer's next act; 'A Simple Space' ($40, 29–31 May), a stripped-down circus show with seven acrobats and live drumming; and 'LIVE MANGA' (free, 4–7 June), a high-energy physical comedy with call-and-response.

The festival takes place across multiple venues at Esplanade, offering a diverse range of performances that are daring, playful, and deeply human. Admission is free for some programmes, while ticketed shows are priced at $40.
