Sang Kancil and the Enchanted Forest VR Experience

Step into a beloved folktale with Sang Kancil and the Enchanted Forest, a free, interactive VR experience touring seven NLB libraries and Enabling Village from 6 June to 2 August 2026.

Created by Singapore studio Avventura and featuring characters brought to life by Maya Dance Theatre, this free-roaming adventure invites up to five participants at a time to help the clever mouse deer Kancil find her way home.

Wearing wireless VR headsets, families move naturally through a magical forest, encountering characters and solving challenges using simple hand gestures—no controllers needed.

Each 30-minute session encourages teamwork and bonding across generations, with themes of resilience, friendship, and ingenuity. The experience is recommended for ages 8 and up; children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sessions are held on weekends at various libraries: Tampines, Woodlands, Clementi, Harbourfront, Toa Payoh, Bedok, and Jurong. A special activation for persons with disabilities and their caregivers takes place 11-12 July at Enabling Village.
