Funtastical World of Fungi Exhibition

Explore the hidden world of fungi at the Funtastical World of Fungi exhibition, an immersive and educational experience at the CDL Green Gallery in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Running from 5 September 2026 to 28 February 2027, this family-friendly exhibition introduces visitors to the fascinating kingdom of funga, distinct from plants and animals. Children can marvel at live bioluminescent mycelium, hear fungi “breathe” through a thunderous art installation, and discover how fungi are used in modern research, including a tile made from bamboo and fungi. Interactive panels and rare specimens, such as the rediscovered Amanita sculpta, make learning fun for all ages. The exhibition is part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival.

Don't miss the enchanting Fungi After Dark light projection show, running nightly from 5 to 13 September 2026, 7.30 pm to 10 pm. This three-minute-long display on the CDL Green Gallery Lawn uses fibre optic lights and narration to tell a story of trade, rain, decay, and renewal. Visitors can listen to the original score on their own headphones via mobile phone. Admission is free, and no booking is required. A perfect outing for curious kids and nature-loving families.
