Free Chapters Card Game By NLB: Redeem At Central Library
The National Library Board (NLB) is offering free copies of its specially designed card game, Chapters, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The game is a tableau-building card game for 2 to 4 players where participants use library and archive features to build their own institution and attract friends or patrons to earn hearts. Gameplay involves building features, inviting friends from a lobby, playing event cards, and utilizing a shared meeple named Molly. A typical round lasts 30 to 45 minutes, with a casual mode suitable for children and more advanced modes, including a strategic 'Libraries and Archive' mode and a competitive 'Not Safe For Libraries' mode.
To redeem a free copy, attendees must visit the Central Library on specified weekends on 14-15 March and 11-12 April, demonstrate an active library membership, have the NLB Mobile app installed, and complete a verification form via FormSG requiring Singpass login. Each redemption includes the Chapters card game, a limited-edition poster, and postcards featuring the game's artwork. The game is noted for its illustrations by local artists, which depict library and archive buildings, including a nostalgic rendering of the original red-bricked National Library.
