LEGO Shophouse Experience

The LEGO Shophouse Experience is a pop-up installation at Design Orchard from March 13 to April 5, 2025. It transforms the venue into an immersive showcase that blends Singaporean heritage, specifically Peranakan design, with the creative possibilities of LEGO bricks. The experience is designed to mirror the flow of a traditional shophouse home, inviting visitors to explore a series of curated rooms.

Each space offers a different theme, from a foyer featuring Singapore's first Peranakan-inspired LEGO brick tile wall to rooms styled as a dining area, living room, adult's retreat, and a children's bedroom. The displays incorporate detailed LEGO builds, vibrant colors, and playful touches that reference everyday life and cultural elements. The experience also highlights fan-built creations, celebrating the LEGO community's creativity.

Interactive activities include creating a custom postcard by collecting stamp colors, which reveals a graphic honoring Peranakan heritage. At the retail zone, visitors can build their own retro LEGO Boombox or Peranakan mosaic tile as a keepsake, though quantities are limited daily. Guests who sign up for the free LEGO Insiders membership on-site can receive a brick-based reward, such as a small LEGO set. An additional activity involves guessing the number of bricks in the featured tile wall for a chance to win a LEGO set.
