First Rave

First Rave is a live theatre performance by The Wanderlings, presented as part of Esplanade Presents March On. The show explores the rhythmically unpredictable journey of mothering through the perspective of a single parent DJ. It portrays the shedding of former identities and the complex transitions of new parenthood, where every loss is met with a new beginning—from a first wail marking farewell to the womb to a first rave celebrating the journey ahead.

Designed as Singapore's first text-based baby theatre performance, it creates a powerful, magical, and affirming experience for both babies and their caregivers, particularly new parents navigating the invisible complexities of parenthood. The performance uses puppetry, light, and sound to introduce adult and baby audience members to each other's worlds, culminating in a gentle and magical rave party. Each performance concludes with a 15-minute rave party by DJ Nicolette.

The production is supported by the National Arts Council and BinjaiTree Foundation. Tickets are sold as adult-child packages, with pricing structured for one adult and one child, or for two adults and one child or one adult and two children.
