Lord Of The Flies: Local stage production

Experience a fresh and unique take on William Golding's classic story, The Lord of the Flies, at KC Arts Centre this March. Local theatremaker Chong Tze Chien brings the narrative to life, transforming an awkward classroom reading into the chaotic jungle world of the story. The performance immerses audiences in a gripping exploration of primal savagery and human nature.

The story follows a group of schoolboys stranded on a deserted island who attempt to create order, but as fear takes hold, their innocence gives way to savagery. Ralph, the elected leader, struggles to uphold reason and democracy, while Jack's thirst for power leads to violence and tyranny. As alliances fracture and bullying escalates into brutality, the boys mirror the chaos of a world divided.

This gripping adaptation forces us to confront urgent questions about the thin line between order and anarchy, whether compassion can triumph over cruelty, and what happens when society's rules collapse. The production runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes and is presented in a 370-seat venue.
