Roald Dahl's The BFG
Roald Dahl's The BFG is a landmark theatrical production presented in Singapore by Singapore Repertory Theatre and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. This visually stunning stage adaptation, created by the Royal Shakespeare Company in collaboration with Chichester Festival Theatre and the Roald Dahl Story Company, marks its first international stop outside the UK. The story follows Sophie, a young orphan snatched by a giant and taken to Giant Country, where she befriends the Big Friendly Giant (BFG). Together, they devise a daring plan to stop human-eating giants and save children everywhere.
The production runs from 22 April to 9 May 2026 at the Esplanade Theatre. Evening performances are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday at 7pm, with matinee shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm. A special schedule applies on 9 May, with performances at 11am and 3pm. The show duration is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
Ticket pricing varies by category and date, with standard tickets ranging from $48 to $158. A premium 'Giant Country Experience' package is available, offering up-close seating, a themed signature drink, an autographed program book, and priority admission. Concession pricing is available for students, seniors, NSFs, and PWDs. The event is recommended for ages 8 and above, with admission permitted for ages 6 and above. All patrons require a ticket, and late seating is subject to availability.
